AIMS-ISR + PrecISR Radar: CarteNav and HENSOLDT Announce New Integration for Enhanced Multi-Mission ISR Operations

Enabling integrators and empowering operators, CarteNav and HENSOLDT announce the integration of the PrecISR airborne multi-Mission ISR radar with AIMS-ISR 10 mission software.

Halifax, Nova Scotia — July 18th, 2025 — CarteNav, a PAL Company, and HENSOLDT announce the integration of AIMS-ISR 10 with the PrecISR airborne multi-mission radar. This collaboration marks another milestone in a series of successful sensor integrations between CarteNav and HENSOLDT. Most notably, the addition offers streamlined systems engineering integration and unified radar control – all within the familiar AIMS-ISR multi-sensor operator interface.

The integration of AIMS-ISR 10 with HENSOLDT’s PrecISR software-defined radar represents a significant leap forward for today’s airborne multi-mission ISR platforms. With over 600 installations in 60+ countries, merging CarteNav’s mission software expertise with HENSOLDT´s advanced radar technology, this collaboration is intended to offer integrators and operators a seamless and effective radar solution. PrecISR’s extensive modes of operation, including high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR), inverse SAR imaging, ground and air moving target indication (G/AMTI) and range profiling, significantly enhance operator effectiveness in ISR missions.

This integration is designed with the end-user in mind, simplifying complex operational scenarios and reducing the cognitive load on operators. By providing a unified local operating picture, AIMS-ISR 10 allows for rapid interpretation and dissemination of high-resolution radar imagery. The software’s ability to manage large data files within a modular architecture ensures that operators can leverage optional change detection toolsets, data dissemination platforms such as AIMS-C4, and a full sensor suite on a single moving maps operating picture at each workstation. Additionally, the integration facilitates streamlined systems integration, significantly reducing program risk and enhancing the adaptability of ISR platforms to future threats.

“Starting with the ARGOS-II integration, the entire team at CarteNav and I are very proud of what we’ve collectively accomplished with HENSOLDT for our customers over the years. Now with AIMS-ISR 10, we are excited to continue that partnership and push the boundaries of what’s possible in ISR tech with the full integration of the PrecISR radar,” said Scott Richardson, Vice President of Product, CarteNav.

“HENSOLDT is proud to deepen its collaboration with CarteNav through the integration of HENSOLDT’s PrecISR radar into the CarteNav AIMS-ISR 10. This partnership combines our radar technology with PAL Aerospace’s advanced ISR mission management platform, delivering enhanced real-time situational awareness. Together, we’re setting a new benchmark for airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities,” said Viktoria Stürmer-Kuchelmeister, Vice President Head of Sales Radar & EW.
